Reconstruction of Bike Park Poseka 2024
This year, we successfully completed the renovation of Bike Park Poseka, the first destination in Slovenia to offer an easy-loop lift system. Our efforts focused on upgrading three existing trails to enhance the overall biking experience.
A Comprehensive Renovation
The reconstruction began in March and included a thorough overhaul. Initially, the renovation targeted the flow trail Šnel Pepi, but additional discussions led to the inclusion of the natural technical trails Divja Jaga and Enduro Bavči. These upgrades ensure a smoother, more technically refined, and safer experience for riders of all skill levels and age groups.
Diverse Trails for All Types of Cyclists
The renovated Bike Park Poseka now features three trails crafted by our team, offering a wide range of experiences:
Šnel Pepi: The trail was machine-built along the existing route, with some sections rerouted for better flow. Reduced maintenance costs, minimized braking needs, and enhanced progression opportunities for riders of all skill levels. New obstacles were added, allowing riders to choose between various line options.
Divja Jaga: A hand-built trail with entirely reworked sections. Wooden features were replaced with soil for better durability. The trail’s flow and user experience were significantly improved.
Enduro Bavči: Another hand-built trail, where damaged sections were replaced with new ones. Enlarged berms for smoother cornering and improved speed management.
In addition, we participated in a community work action with local youth, coordinating the renovation and improvements of the Bica singletrack.
Overcoming Challenges with Nature
Building and renovating trails at Bike Park Poseka was not without challenges. Intense rainfall and snowfall during the construction period created several issues on-site. Heavy rainfall introduced numerous small springs that seeped through the soil, constantly wetting the trails. We reinforced the terrain, installed drainage systems, and ensured the trails could withstand adverse conditions.
With consistent adjustments and perseverance, we successfully achieved our goal: durable, safe, and nature-friendly trails.
A Successful Outcome
The renovation of Bike Park Poseka has proven to be an excellent decision. The park has attracted a record number of visitors this seasson, affirming its appeal to cycling enthusiasts.
Beyond the numbers, the success of this project has strengthened our bond with the park, fostering closer collaboration and opening new opportunities for future projects.
