Project description: Sovič is considered a popular city hill, on top of which you can find the ruins of Postojna Castle (Adelsberg). The cycling route takes you from Čukovce behind Sovič through diverse Poljane fields to Veliki Otok. In the first part, the path leads along a paved gravel road, winding between trees and dense shrubbery. After two kilometers, you will reach a viewpoint above the village of Veliki Otok, right next to the Church of St. Catherine, offering a view of the vast Pivška basin surrounded by karst plateaus. Then, turn downhill along the slope to Veliki Otok and follow the main road towards Postojna Cave. You'll cross a bridge over the Pivka River and continue past a linden tree alley up to the first left turn, leading you back to the starting point in Čukovce. Near the starting point, at the foot of Sovič hill, you'll also find Pumptrack Postojna, where you can test your skills in dynamic riding over bumps.
